Mrs MBK's 2012 Stitches - Fabric Opinions Requested!

Here is where I will put all my other non-Chatelaine related stitches for the year - I can't cope with a different thread for all my projects, so I hope that is OK with everyone!

Since I have been stitching mainly on CGM for 2 months I think I am beginning to get the itch to stitch on a few smalls, so I kitted some up at the weekend. Here is my first finish of 2012, a freebie design from The Drawn Thread - All You Need is Love:

Stitched on Cream Belfast Linen with my choice of threads (GASTs and Glorianna). There are about 12 different types of stitch in this one, each heart is a different stitch. I plan on making it into a Wedding Anniversary card.....

I just downloaded this chart. I think it would be a good one to start out with silks when I'm ready, plus all the different stitches would be fun. Some time during this decade I guess. I bookmarked the website too.

Here is my second finish for 2012, "At Home with Jane" by The Sampler Girl who often features small freebie patterns on her blog. I have quite a few of her charts in my stash, I think this one was also featured in March 2007 GOSM:

It is stitched 2 over 2 on 28ct cream Annabelle, a fabric that I happen to love despite its oddity of being a cotton fabric masquerading as linen! I stitched this one from stash (always very satisfying!) so instead of the charted Crescent Colours or DMCs, I used a mixture of Anchors, GASTs and a Gloriana (had to get some silk in there somewhere!).

I'm also stitching on CGM for the HAEDless SAL on the HAED BB this week so hopefully will have an update for that soon - but for my next exciting stitch I will be starting on Mabel's "Round the World" designs which I have been looking forward to for ages. I think all the Crazy January stitching that has been going on in Blogland has made me a bit less "strict" with all my projects!
