HAED: Motley & the Xmas Pudding (Ivory) update 12/18/12

Post by rcperryls »

I did cave during the last sale and bought two Christmasy charts and this is the one I decided to start. I think A Long Winter's Nap is going to have to wait for next Christmas. I so loved to see all the holiday themed designs that everyone was stitching. I plan (at least that is my plan right now)to stitch this one this month. Maybe next year I will switch between the two over December. Anyway, this is what it should look like:
Image
This is my primary helper checking out the tension of the fabric (Jobelan 28 count being tent stitched) on the Q-snaps.
Image
Being double checked by her assistant
Image
who then decided a cat nap was required after all that hard work
Image
This is how far I have gotten. Though there are some blocks of color to stitch, I have been amazed at how much confetti there is. But that is what makes the pattern in the middle squares of the border.
Image
I can't wait to get to the snow, but it is going to be a while before that happens. There is no white, no snow white, no winter white threads.
Thanks for looking
Carole

 Very serious case of chronic startitis after many many years of one chart until either finished or death. I am hoping for a healthy balance some time in the future. At least with the mini's there is hope.

Beautiful work! I feel your startitis pain... I'm getting a little scared at the pile of WIPs I have too.

However, this is a great Christmas-y design and it's clearly demanding to be stitched now. :) So there's no white in the entire design??

Though Laverne still maintains overall possession of all "our" cross stitching, she has been very good about letting Shirley have more "lap time" than she usually is. In fact, I have been really surprised about this. Of course, when Shirley takes over the "stitching", Laverne almost immediately occupies Shirley's favorite basket though she hardly fits in it. It sits on top of the microwave in front of the kitchen window. Basket with a view. (Not that my home is overtaken by those of the feline persuasion).

Finished almost a third of the first page.

There is so much confetti in that border. But worth it. And it was soooo nice to stitch the inside edge of the border as it was pretty much 2 colors with only a little bit of confetti.

I've decided that stitching all that black on my LOTR restart will not be as tedious since I'm rotating it with the others. Going to try to keep it to a a row or two at a time. Tenting should make it go a whole lot (as in twice) faster.
Thanks for looking
