Moan time! OT

Post by Fljotsdale »

1. I'm not feeling great, haven't been for a while, and I can't get rid of a vile head/neck ache. I have appts next week to see doctor, dentist and optician to see if any of 'em can solve the problem.

2. My right wrist hurts. :(

3. My right heel hurts. :(

4. I can't sleep cos I hurt too much and my eyes are sore.

5. Everything costs way too much, and my income isn't going up! :tantrum:

6. I'm eating rubbish and putting on weight. :tantrum:

7. My kettle has just given up the ghost and cut off my electricity in the process. (My son sorted out the electric, so that's back, I just have to buy a new kettle...)

8. ............... um........ I think that's about it!

So sorry to hear...moan all you want, you're among friends. I can identify especially with #5 and #6...I guess that's just a fact of life.

Feel better soon and fingers crossed the docs will be able to provide relief. In the meantime, I hope your stitchy bug will keep you company.

Oh that sucks! Pain can make everything else look glum. I hope they do sort out your face/neck ache, don't let them extract any teeth unless they are 100% sure that's the issue. Might be worth seeing a neurologist to rule out any Trigeminal involvement (like I have!).

Sending you lots of vibes.

Well! The doctor says I 'probably' have arthritis in my neck and shoulder (make that my jaw as well! I have always had a clicky jaw that never really knows where it should sit in the joints... ).

My optician said my sight prescription is the same as last time, but that I have a slight hardening of the outer layer of the lens which is affecting the sharpness of my vision, and I should make sure to use bright lighting when reading and sewing (I already do!) but that it is unlikely to be the cause of of my neck/head ache.

The dentist has agreed to remove a tooth after years of trying to save it when I never wanted it saved in the first place because it's more bother than it's worth (Yay! ) but said it wouldn't be the reason for the neck/head ache. I have the tooth out next Friday. :D He thinks it will be an easy extraction... :x:

The doc prescribed Co-Dydramol, which kinda work, but gave me horrendous constipation   so I've stopped taking them and have gone back to good old Anadin Extra. I'll be seeing him again in a couple of weeks so I shall ask for something else and give the Co-Dydramol back to the pharmacist.

I'll report back after the tooth has been removed. :)

 I am so sorry to hear that they really haven't figured out how to help you stop the pain. I don't know the medicine they have given you, but I know that ibuprofen is a big help to me when my back starts hurting (Advil is the brand name over here) and I know quite a few people who use it for arthritis. I will also keep :x: that your extraction goes easily. That's another pain (besides one in the neck) that the ibuprofen is a big help with. When I had my fall and all that oral surgery last October, it worked so well that I never took the more potent pain medication that the oral surgeon prescribed.
Anything that hurts too much to let you stitch is not good!!

Thanks for listening, Carole! I must check out Ibuprofen - I don't think I've ever used it. Just read the info on co-dydramol and it's addictive!  For pete's sake! Why put such stuff on the market? Not that I stand any chance of being addicted - the constipation really put me off!
