Re: Trebizond Thread

While I don't think it needs to be washed as I see nothing on it and used a roll up frame I usually do have lotion on my hands. I would hate to have it framed and then see marks come up later. One color is very dark and the others I would say are medium. It finally occurred to me that when I test ...

Trebizond Thread

I have just finished a sampler where I used 3 colors of Trebizond thread (silk). Does anyone have experience with washing this? I will try testing it first to be sure it doesn't bleed but I don't want the crinkled look to go away either. I know to press gently on the back but would love to hear of ...

Re: Help please washing a sampler

I have just finished the Just Nan Common Ground sampler and it probably needs a wash so I appreciate the suggestions above but do have an additional question. It is stitched on linen that was not washed before stitching. Any chance this could shrink? I had never heard of this happening until I ...

Re: Dimensions Tree Frog Trio - Update 4/7/15

It has been many years since I've stitched and seeing a basting grid is new for me - but what a great idea! I just started a new project on 28ct and the instructions read to stitch the border first and if it meets then you're good. I appreciate the heads up but that has me counting over and over and ...

Re: Hello from NC

Debby - it should be here today and I'll let you know once I try it out.

Teresa - You will love quilting - it's another addiction! I love fabrics and putting the colors together. I am working on a Christmas quilt now and it just has 4 fabrics but I love it. There is a deep red with a little black ...

Re: OT amazing day out

I'm new but just had to leave a note on how much I love your pictures. I had rather meet a horse or any animal for that matter than a celebrity. Love your hat too - did you make it ?

Re: Hello from NC

Thank you all for the kind welcomes.

I did find the recommendations here and have ordered an ott light. It seems rather large and not attractive but I need light and magnification,.

Wishing you all a happy stitching day.

Hello from NC

Hi everyone

I'm Susan from Western NC. My sister started me cross stitching years ago, then I started quilting and next came knitting. A few weeks ago I was reading a quilting blog and the blogger also stitched. One thing lead to another and I was off reading stitching blogs - thus I'm hooked again ...
