Re: Helen's SAL - Summer Flowers

Hey all, thanks for the comments!

Threadbear - yes I always start in the corner, I measure to check where on the fabric I need to start and then cross my fingers a little bit haha!!

I haven't managed to do much over the last few weeks but I've almost finished page 2 so here's a photo - afraid it ...

Re: Q snap advice please for a frame novice

Sorry to thread hijack but this is really interesting. I've only ever used a hoop and had been wondering what the frames were in people's SAL threads!

What would people recommend in terms of either a Q Snap or a scrolling frame? Or is it just down to personal preference?

My current project is ...

Re: How long do you stitch for per day?

Wow some of you on here get some serious stitching time!!

This week I've been writing a 3,000 word essay in the evenings after work - so I've managed about 1 hour!

I hope to have the essay finished by tomorrow evening so will try to catch up a bit over the weekend, maybe 2 hours on Sunday ...

Re: Has the Postperson brought you anything fun 2010!!!!

Yesterday I got my tickets for Wimbledon tennis championships. :applesauce:

Ooooh lucky you, I wanted to get tickets this year as I haven't been now for about 4 years!

By the time I got round to looking on the website for the ballot I had missed the closing date for applications

Which ...

Re: Helen's SAL - Summer Flowers

Thanks for all the kind comments :)

Alinna, yes it's a Godward painting. I basically picked 6/7 designs that I thought I'd enjoy stitching - Mucha, Degas, Alma Tadema etc - and let my mum and dad choose 1.

If I can find the camera later I'll take a photo of the Waterhouse painting I finished for ...

Helen's SAL - Summer Flowers

Hi all

So here is the beginning of my SAL!! Hope you all enjoy it.

I've had a look at some of the other SAL's on here and some of you certainly stitch quickly!

I'll try to post up a photo every week or so but as I'm rather busy at the moment (full-time job + studying for a post-grad diploma = not ...

Re: Computer Generated Patterns

Thanks all for your replies, there are some good ideas here.

Think it might be best to leave the ebay design for now, it seems like a bit of a risk based on some experiences.

We have had a look at the HAED website and there are some lovely designs on there... the only thing I am a bit confused ...

Computer Generated Patterns

Hi all

My other half is trying to get into cross stitch at the mo. He's done some smaller work and now wants to move onto something a little larger. So my question is - has anyone worked any computer generated patterns and were they any good?

The type of patterns he is looking at are like these ...

Greetings!

Hi everyone

I have been lurking around on here for a few days now and so thought it was time to show myself!!

My name is Helen and I live in South-West UK. I've been stitching for a while but am probably a relative newcomer looking at some of the lovely work on here!

I've just started on a ...
