Haven't been employed lately and just picked it back up again after a long break. Now I'm stitching at least a few hours every day until I start my new job, then it will be on a whenever I can basis :(

I usually get about 45 minutes in the mornings before work and about 3 - 4 hours in the evenings. Weekends depends if I see OH or not - if not then I can sometimes do as much as 8 - 10 hours each of the days, if he's visiting then maybe about 4 - 5 hours when we're watching TV in the evening or listening to music or something.

I stitch when I can.. not on a day to day basis. I usually find a Saturday or Sunday afternoon is when I can really get a decent amount of stitching time in but, alas, that also varies.

Like many people on here I work full time and rarely get to start stitching until 8pm at night so I try to get 1 or 2 hours in during the week with around 2-5 hours of a weekend depending on how the mood takes me :)

Wish I was stitching now rather than working........ :ratherbe:

some days i dont do any, other days i can stitch all day in between doing housework and stuff.

tomorrow i was planning ons titiching most of the day, it is my selfish day off, the day i close the world out, it''s all mine..then work asked me if i could do an extra shift cause they are short staffed so i ended up saying yes. I said no first, but then i felt bad cause i said no to the last 2 times they asked me but i needed a break, normally i say yes.

so my stitching all day tomorrow has gone..but i start at 2pm so will probably stitvch most of the morning.

There's just been too many things to do in the evenings when I got home to stitch at night. But I have been taking my stitching to work and I can get in 1 to 1.5 hours in over the course of my breaks and lunch. Hopefully I can get back to normal so I can have time in the evenings and weekends to stitch.

One of these days I'm going to take a "stitching vacation". I'm going to go somewhere peaceful, lock myself up in a hotel room and do nothing but stitch for hours on end and days on end (if possible). And if the hotel has room service I wouldn't have to worry about leaving to find something to eat. Wouldn't that be wonderful?

Wow some of you on here get some serious stitching time!!

This week I've been writing a 3,000 word essay in the evenings after work - so I've managed about 1 hour!

I hope to have the essay finished by tomorrow evening so will try to catch up a bit over the weekend, maybe 2 hours on Sunday :)

I can only stitch at the weekends, so when I've got my stitiching bug, I can stitch for about 10-12 hours over the course of the weekend.

I am lucky that I have retired,so apart from grandchildren sitting, I manage to sew 3 hours in the morning and 2 in the afternoon.I dont stitch in the evenings as I spend time with my husband who isnt to good healthwise.
I might sneek and hour at night in the middle of summer  as the light is so good, here in Scotland we have an extra hour of light, but loose it in the winter months :(

Varies greatly. Depends on mood and other things calling me. And that is with me being retired.

I am really blessed because I can cross stitch for as long as I like usually - as long as my household duties have been taken care of - of course!

I tend to do some in the the morning before my husband goes to work and in the afternoon, sitting in our verandah with the sun shinning and birds singing. Best place for lighting!

And like most stitchers, if I could I would do it all the time :D

Yes! Yes, it would!! I often think about doing similar but I know it'd never happen because my family would think me really odd wanting to go away by myself and they wouldn't let up until they'd talked me out of it. The hotel room would have to have a lovely view of countryside (I'm about the only person in the world who prefers fields to seaviews) and a balcony.

I try to stitch daily, and if I am in of an evening I can do 2-4 hours. I may get more in on a Sunday afternoon. And, if I've done all my jobs, I may sit down after lunch until the school run begins.

Ohhh a stitching vacation!!!

Actually, one day I am going to move back to the west coast, somewhere in oregon and washington and have me a lovely view of the ocean! (Sometimes, it really sucks living in a landlocked state!) Then I can spend my day out on the porch stitching..That is my dream!

Slinky I am with you. I have lived in California for the last 14+ years and have only been to the beach 3 times and all of them because I was driving the kids. I could go forever with out seeing the ocean again. I love the mountains or a nice field of wheat.

Lucky girl! Sounds like absolute bliss

As we have our own business which we run from home I generally stitch only after dinner, which is usually about 8.15 or later. I then tend to stitch *while watching telly or talking to DH and the boys) until we go up to bed, usually too late!

At weekends I try to take more "daylight stitching time", although Saturdays tend to be pretty crowded, but Sundays I refuse to do any work (apart from cooking meals), and after church I just take it easy and stitch or read or forum.

on Mondays during term time I've got my stitching group for two hours, which is lovely, and tomorrow, as DH and a friend are away trialling in the Austin, and I've done the weekly shop and will finish the church newsletter today, I will have lots and lots of lovely stitching time!! (my only "chores" being my walking group in the morning, answering the business phone throughout the day, and cooking dinner -- which is a one-pan easy meal!)

I didn't get a whole day of stitching despite my best efforts to do all the jobs yesterday. This evening is going to be spent stitching though as I have done all of my chores and chasing around.

I try to stitch at least an hour everyday....but sometimes I can stitch longer depending on what is happening on that specific day. If I am not busy, I stitch as long as I can...if I am busy, I sometimes managed to stitch an hour in the evening. There are times that I don't stitch at all for a few days.
