This project has made all of our jaws drop to the floor. Absolutely amazing. Well done on your patience and of course your eyesight.

I missed the finished footstool before Christmas too. Well done it's worked out so well. Please let us know how your MIL liked it. I'm sure it's something she will cherish.

I had been waiting patiently for so long to see the results! Well done again!

Re: Mabel's silk gauze experiments
I am very late with this. I don't know what to say other than it is stunning! I can't believe some of the things you try out 60ct. I am using 16ct for the very first time after 13 years stitching.

Re: Mabel's silk gauze experiments
Finally had an opportunity to get back to my rose -- I did some at my stitching group this afternoon
The good news is that the variegated-ness of the thread is finally beginning to show, it's going from dark red to an almost black burgundy.
The bad news is that my thread got tangled and there's now a bit of fluff which I cannot get out *grrrr*. I'll try again when I've calmed down...
I'm trying very hard not to have trailing threads but I do find that sometimes it's just not possible -- you trail for two squares and it shows up
Just do my best and see how it ends up, after all it is an experiment
Talking of which, I've also started another silk experiment, using five different flat silks; when there is actually anything to show I'll start a thread somewhere!

Re: Mabel's silk gauze experiments
Mabel, somehow I think I missed the finished footstool, which is simply wonderful.
Fluff.
I have problems like this with hardanger, too. Take your time, is all I can say. But looking very good.
Fluff.

Re: Mabel's silk gauze experiments
It does look lovely Mabel, I hope you find a solution to the fluff, and pass on the solution to us
