Dazbo SAL - Lickle Ted, Winter Wishes

Post by Dazbo666 »

Well I bought issue 120 of Cross Stitch Crazy just before Xmas, but due to being side-tracked by stitching some festive cards and mini projects, I've only just got round to starting the Winter Wishes project.

Image

I've already stitched for maybe 10-15 hours over the last 3 days (which is a LOT for me)... Of course I'll post some progress pics asap

Something like 27 skeins, including satins and light effects... it's beginning to feel like a LOT of colour changes for a relatively small design (94x110 stitches)
I've been promising myself for some time that I'd try a Lickle Ted design, and I just hope the end result is worth the effort of wading thru all those confetti stitches  LOL

I think it may be a slight shock to the system after stitching some mini projects and simple cards over the festive period - it feels strange that I didn't finish the whole project in just one or two days, heehee

Uploaded piccys as promised....

The magazine page, the project in progress, and some of the skeins
Image

...and a closer pic of the progress up to yesterday afternoon
Image

I've actually made a little more progress than shown here, so I'll try to post another pic later today/tonight
(and I may also have to :ribbit: the bottom left side of the scarf, cos I'm sure I've miscounted some noticeable stitches)

By the way, I'm not sure if it shows in the online pic, but the Aida I'm using is from the "Starlite" range available from Hobbycraft.... basically it has gold pinstripes running thru it, which I think really makes it look even more effective

The fabric is really nice, it makes a great winter effect!
Although all the colour changes are not so fun, the end result should be worth it, keep up the good work :)

He looks so cute. I like that fabric I have a couple pieces and I am going to stitch snowmen on them. It looks really great when you do that. Your pregress is great. Don't let Mr :ribbit: get into this it is to cute for him to play with.

Thanks for all your positive comments!! It really is appreciated

I've made a little more progress on this one overnight... I've been concentrating mainly on the face this time ...soooo cute
Image

...and here's the overall effect
Image

I'm really loving the effect that the new gold pinstriped Aida has on the background - but unfortunately it doesn't show up all that well in the pics

EDIT : I stand corrected, it actually shows up fairly well in the closeup above
