Wow I'm almost sort of scared to start mine now :D

I think the small count I've done is 28 count on the afghan's and 18 count on Aida so I'm hoping my 25 count won't be too daunting when I start it :D

Great progress anyway - slow and steady wins the race remember

Yeah, this isn't the best time of year for stitching, is it? Far too much to do! But I'm really looking forward to seeing progress in the new year. :D

Okay I finally finally starting making some progress on Chessie..I think it was mostly from watching so many others working on their HAED's that it finally inspired me to get going on this. First off, I decided to not do this on the 22ct evenweave. I think a lot of the reason I haven't stitched this is because that fabric gave me an absolute headache. It's just too small for me. So I went to the craft store friday and bought me a huge piece of 18 count aida. It's absolutely a million times better now! So I ended up stitching all weekend and have about 2000 stitches done which is almost half a page. I was going to take a pic this morning but then my boyfriend's jeep broke down on the highway at 4:30am and I had to go pick him up, get it towed, and rush off to work this morning so I wouldn't be late so I'll take a pic tonight and have a pic on here tomorrow! :D

Oh that is going to be so exciting to see I am really looking forward to the picture. I understand your difficulty with the evenweave I can"t us it myself I convert everything to Aida. That is why a HAED would not work for me.

It actually looks pretty good on the aida. The finished project size will now be 19.5"X14.5" So it's going to be bigger but that's okay. I have plenty of wall space! :D

No reason why it shouldn't work on aida, and it's so important to have a fabric you like working on if you tackle something like this! Looking forward to those pictures :applesauce:

Okay here's the pic as promised. This is 18ct aida using three strands. This about 2,000 stitches (almost half a page) and three different colors so far.

Great start! I've never worked 3 strands on 18ct, but it certainly gives beautifully full coverage in your picture. Is it easy to get through the holes when you've already done three stitches in one hole?

It takes a little more force but for the most part I don't find it that much different than two strands. I do use the thread heaven so maybe that helps some! I just can't stand any white poking through on the finished project so that's why I usually use the three strands. :D
