:thinks: Star of Feanor - I counted

Now I want to read it again. It's been ages... When Eszter, my daughter was little.

Agi, you are a true gem!!

Yes, the Star of the House of Feänor serves as my avatar (fitting, doncha think?). Scroll down here to find the original: http://www.forodrim.org/gobennas/heraldry/heraldry.htm" target="_blank" target="_blank

Those of you who have read LOTR or seen the movies would have seen the star on the Doors of Moria. (*more scuttling is heard as they all reach for Fellowship of the Ring*)

Agi, if you could pm me your address, something stash-ish shall be winging it's way towards you soon. :applesauce: :applesauce:

Read the Hobbit, enjoyed it in a quiet sort of way, tried reading LOTR, and it lost me completely. I'm usually quite good with mythologies and bulky volumes, but for some reason this fails to grip me -- sorry. I have seen the films though, as I share the house with two LOTR fanatics (DH and youngest) and a slightly more moderate fan (eldest) -- eldest used to call youngest Gollum :-). I can see their appeal, it's just not my sort of thing -- but I do like the name Serinde, it sounds beautifully magical :-).

We're LOTR fans here, too. I've read the book and we have both versions of the movies--the ones released in the theater and the extended versions which are almost an hour longer.

Very sad people that we are, my family (and me  ) had a LOTR weekend recently where we watched all 3 extended version films and all the extra bits too - despite the fact that we've sen the films goodness knows how many times before!

(Three extended version ones back to back needs an awful lot of popcorn!!!)

That's not sad at all. Our kids aren't old enough to watch much of the movies, but when DH was out of town for a few days, I watched one or two of them. I'd get home from work about 11 pm (my SIL had already put the kids in bed) and I'd watch the movie and stitch until about 1.

Yeah, the only problem is that my kids wake up between 6 & 7 so after being home all day with youngest, helping son with homework, working a 5 hour shift and then stitching for a few hours....Well, lets just say I was exhausted all weekend!
