Don't worry Susan, you're not the only one doing that! Even though I usually have a camera nearby, I do things like that with my kids all the time!

My OH sending me a text asking me to pick things up for tea but he would cook. Meals have been a bit rushed or take aways lately and work is a bit stressful due to the time of year (I work for the only organisation that get busy in January)! This was a pleasant surprise.

Last month it got really windy and cool here. I recently bought a wooden windchime with hollow tubes that I hung right outside of my bedroom window and it was so loud that i bought it in for the night and hung it in my front room. The next morning i found a frog in the living room. Then a frog in my kitchen! I found about 8 frogs all over the house and i felt like i was in an episode of the twilight zone. I finally realized that they climbed into the hollow tubes of the windchime to get warm and came out some time during the night. It wasn't a joyous moment but now that its over i have to laugh..

We performed a play in November on the 200th anniversary of Egressy Gábor's birth, who our school was named after. We had to repeat it because we wanted not only selected guests, but also more of our students to see it.
It was this afternoon. It was very good again. It brought tears in my eyes how our students (who are not very good in humanities, being boys, and studying in sport- or technical oriented classes) could perform such a wonderful, touching thing. It brought tears in my eyes, but the tears of joy. :)

Reading all your lovely posts. Unfortunatley the only thing that made smile today wasn't very nice. A woman came into the office and didn't like the advice I gave her so started ranting it made me want to laugh unfortunately because she was being so completely irrational!

Unfortunately the lectures are for pupils only.
Wow, that definitely sounds like a moment of joy for me, I've just completed my major in Linguistics! We never get the seriously big names over here in New Zealand :( . I just have to content myself with books and more books (which is fine by me, I just got myself a new historical ling book about "proto-world" :D )

Another moment of joy was that I did get in -- and as I arrived a little early, was introduced to the man himself byt the head of the English department, and had a very interesting chat about one of my favourite case studies from his books  I had a wonderful evening!

Oh, how good for you, Mabel. May I be just a little bit envious?

What was so very nice about it was that it was so completely unexpected, and so thoughtful of youngest -- h's really very sweet sometimes :-)

Lucky girl! Did you and your school fellows enjoy it? I had the idea sometimes that it was a little too difficult for the younger ones there, although he is a great actor in his lectures so even when youngest didn't get everything, he did enjoy most of it.

That's excellent news, Mabel.

I'm sure there are many snow stories, so here's mine. We haven't had much up here in the Frozen North, but yesterday DH and I took our aged labrador out in what we had, knowing how he loves the cold and snow. WELL. He's fifteen (15!), and he's rolling around in the snowy tussocks, biting at the snow, and flinging it up over his head, cantering around in a lopsided sort of way, and egging us on to throw snowballs at him to catch. Just having the time of his life. The old chap whose hips are stiff and who has no reverse gear was charging around like a 3-year-old. Fantastic! :applesauce: :applesauce:
