Searching for alphabet kit/pattern

Post by icicle »

Hiya people,

I'm really hoping that someone can help me out. I'm trying to locate a cross stitch kit, or even just a pattern will do, of an alphabet that has a picture representing each letter, but the letter still clearly visible, eg A then an apple next to it, B then a ball next to it. I used to have such a pattern, but must have thrown it out when I moved a couple of years ago. I'd love to stitch an alphabet for my baby's nursery, but all of the kits I can find either have pictures obscuring the letters, or the pictures are totally unrelated to the letters. Hope this makes sense??

I'm not after a particular cross stitch, just a good alphabet,

Any help would be huuugely appreciated,

Thanks,

Rach :)

It depends a bit on what you want to do with it, but Sew and So sell a Baby Alphabet Afghan which comes with an alphabet chart of that type.

I think Rainbow Gallerie's freebie alphabet is like this. Let me go and see.
Take a look if you like it:

If you can not find what you are looking for you could just make your own. Find a nice Alphabet that is the size you like and then go to all the free web sites and pick a small motif that fits with the letter. We all have our own idea about what picture should go with which letter so this would be very personal just to you. I know it is a bit time consuming but well worth the effort.

Thank-you very much for the help ladies, particular thanks to Rose, what a fantastic idea, I should have thought of that myself!! I have started my design and am enjoying it as much as I enjoy stitching!! Let's hope it works out okay, some of the pictures are 100% mine so could be touch and go!

Thanks again,

Rach :)
