Great start! I really need to work on mine, too. I think the one I have is more of a village scene. How are you finding the 11 ct? I keep thinking that it will seem huge compared to everything else I work on.

Oh it does seem huge especially after my 18 count angel but I know it is going to make a great tree skirt.

Well you would think that stitching on such a large count you would get lots and lots done but so far a bit slow. Two reasons, one is the size of the fabric, you have all of this extra hanging on all sides and if you try to fold or wind it up to get it out of the way is becomes very heavy on your wrists. Second is in the current location there are a lot of color changes the the bird alone had 7 colors. So he is not very big and all the changes it takes time. Plus working with the threads on the sorting cards that they came on in the kit they are in no order at all so I am constantly grabbing card after card to try to find the proper nuimber. I am very tempted to take the time get some bobbins and wind them on there then I could put them in numerical order and it would in the long run save time. I just don't want to waste the time I could be stitching to do it.
So here is a quick up-date
I will say I am not very impressed with the quality of the pattern. The directions are so very generic. I mean it tells you how to mount it on a board for framing. Really framing I don't think so and the directions for finishing the skirt are vauge at best. The symbols I have to say are goo nothing similar so no chance of confusion. But the backstitch lines go over the stitching symbols and obscure the symbol. In the directions it tells that this is going to happen so what do the directions tell you to do about this. Here is a direct quote from the stitching directions. "At times a diagonal Back stitch line might obscure a Cross stitch symbol beneath it. Work the Cross stitch using a logical color that is found in the immediate area." word for word off of the directions. So they know you can not see the symbol but just guess and it will be fine. I am sorry but to me that is just wrong. As a designer figure out a better way to mark the back stitching, a different color that is lighter so you can see the underneath symbol or something done just say guess what should be there. Do I sound a bit testy. Sorry must be my PMS coming out.

Well it is looking good
The Heritage Silhouettes sepia pictures I have just done had separate grids for any back stitch (there wasn't much) which I thought was a good idea.
