Re: Susan's Stitches - Bell Flower Scissor Keep
Thought I'd try to get some updates on here today, so here's the first. I managed to finish the scissor keeper, but have still to figure out how to sew it all together - for some reason the making up doesn't seem to be part of the stitch class
I did take a look at how other people have finished theirs so I know what I want to do - but whether ot not my sewing skills are up to it, I'm not so sure

Re: Susan's Stitches - Bell Flower Scissor Keep
Thats beautiful
I'm sure you will make it up with the same expertise as the stitching you did. Well done

I'll be interested to see how you get on Susan. The thing that puts me off doing such as this or biscornu or needle cases etc, is I'm pretty clueless when it comes to making things up.

Re: Susan's Stitches - Another Update
Thanks for that tutorial Wendy, I'll going to have to pluck up the courage to have a go at it
Meanwhile, here are some updates from last week's stitch club where we started a new project, called 'Spring Blooms Pocket'. I'm not quite sure what a 'pocket' is meant to look like, other than it's a type of bag?! But I have to say I have so much enjoyed this bit of stitching and just couldn't stop until I had the bit we're meant to do before the next meeting (next Tuesday) finished.
Here's what I managed in the three hours of stitch club (it doesn't look much does it
)

A few days later I had managed to get the central part completed

The little blue filler stitches are called Rice Stitch and are really fun to stitch. It's like a big cross stitch, with four little tent stitches one on each of the arms.

And the last one is me up to date with this one - well almost. Unfortunately I ran out of the yellow Chameleon Perle thread (which is lovely to work with), so there are a couple of lines of cable stitch still to be added, which will need to wait until Tuesday now.
