I keep coming back and looking at this, 'cos I seem to have this almost irresistible urge to grab it and run off with it!

That metallic is the lost beautiful piece!! You have just done wonderfully on it.
How long did it take you to do it? What will you do with it?

hehehe, you've all made me laff, all i see when i look at it is 'horrid stuff, does nowt but snag itself, ggrrr'. I can't remember how long it took to do the original swirl pattern in the middle, ages probably (i had the idea to do something all in metallics just to see what it would come out like, cos the threads look great on the bobbins, don't they, but to use??? nightmare) The border round the edge has only taken this past week. OH spotted it in the done pile t'other week and said he likes it (i'm not too fussed about it) so i decided to finish it with the border to fill it out to the edges of the frame its being living in (the frame's an old one and was way too big for just the swirls on their own). It is a lot easier to use when just doing petit-point type stitching with it, though, rather than cross-stitch

Oh I think we all are so impressed because we know how very hard it must have been to stitch that size of pattern all in metallic. You are probably one of very few that would do a 100% metallic. We are all so impressed that you were able to complete such a great piece. I totally understand not liking this after all of the hard work it took to finish, I have had 3 that ended up being a chore to finish and then not really liking them because of the difficulty. Thankfully all 3 were presents for other so I don't have to look at them.

Wow, what a fantastic pattern that is. You might hate it at the moment, but once you forget the pain, bet you appreciate all the more :D :D Well done, it's quite stunning. :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

i DID do a bit on autumn yesterday, not enough to do another photo of yet though, i've been doing mending and fixing jobs around the house this week since finishing 'bling' - ha thats a good name for it, it even shines in the dark; at the mo its propped up against the fireplace waiting to be housed somewhere, it'll probably end up on the staircase wall with most of my others.
The weather's set fair to c**p here for the weekend, i've even heard its forecast snow again (?!) so i'll probably get more of autumn done, instead of the outdoor jobs i'd planned on doing. I did get the cat's hidey-hole tidied up this week, after the mess the gas-men left it in, he's a happybunny again :)

Minus 1!!!!!! BBBRRRRRR!!!!!!! And I was hoping to go on a date with Gilbert! Think he'll have to stay in the garage wrapped in his blanket!

Love your sparklies, by the way. I hate working with metallics as well, but they do look smashing!

I've managed to get a little more done, in between decorating jobs around the house and sundry other boring stuff. :?
