Pako needle organisers

Post by topbiddy »

Hi everyone,
I have a stitching friend and she has been singing the praises of Pako needle organisers. I am thinking of ordering one online and would like comments please on whether you find them useful. I hate having to keep threading every change of colour so I can see the merits myself.

I use mine all the time, especially when working on larger projects. I find it saves sanity. I think it's well worth the small investment.

I think it depends on the sort of projects you do; I've never had a needle organiser and never felt the need for one, but then most of my projects are relatively small.

Having said that, there were a fair number of colours and frequent colour changes in the nameplate I did for Isobel (though not anywhere near as many as in a HAED, obviously), and I was still perfectly happy having my threads in my little project bobbin box and threading as I went along.

This may be partly because I tend to work in colour blobs rather than 10x10 squares -- I do as much as I possibly can in one colour before moving on to the next, thus minimising needle-threading.

I love mine! Unfortunately it's set up for my fractal right now so I'm not using it for Thomas Kinkade. Hubby asked me to get one for him, too. He likes it, too.

I bought mine off ebay and love it for a relatively smallish project but full of confetti. I couldn't work without it for my keeshond piece.

Ah CF thank you this is the exact reason I can not use an organizer. I would be two paranoid to be comfortable to stitch.

The only downfall I had originally was that my daughter would take the needles out and then take the threads out or she would start sewing on my projects. It's been quite a while since she's done that since she's older and understands more.

i bought one with my xmas money, but havent used it yet. The kids will help me to use it, or I would get muddled up. But I love the loop method and use it all the time, so I would still end up re-treading the needles  I also work in colour sections rather than 10x10 blobs
