Adding links in your signature bar

Post by Sarah Gixxer »

I noticed some people have put a list of projects they're doing in their signature bar (I have too) but some have linked the title of the project in their signature to the actual thread about their SAL so that interested people can click and go straight to the thread without having to search through the ever growing SAL list.

Can anybody tell me how to do this? I can just about manage to insert photos from photobucket - linking to my own threads is no doubt very simple, but beyond me at present! :D

I think you just select and copy the... I wish I new what it is called... the bar at the top of your internet window, you know, the one which says http://www..." target="_blank. etc.
(I hate being this dumb! Sorry.)

Never mind not knowing what it's called, Agi, at least you pointed me in the right direction and it works too! I managed to copy the link to my Bubble Telescope thread and put it in the signature and it works. WOO HOO! Learned something there. It's OH that's the computer genius here, I'm rubbish with them!

Sarah, if you want to have the name of your project appear as the link rather than the viewtopic thing, you can do the following: (leave out the x-es I have put in, they are there because otherwise the message would just show a link instead of the code I want you to see!)

[xURL=xviewtopic.php?f=6&t=4416x]HAED[x/URLx]

If you do that without the x-es you should just have the word HAED clickable.

Good luck!

Ooh, thank you Mabel, I will try that! The problem I found with having the whole URL showing (other than looking messy) is that it takes up nearly all the characters allowed in your signature! I shall experiment and see if I can do it.
