Home Sweet Home Cushion Sets - WIP

Ok, I thought I'd start a new thread for what I actually working on at the moment. This is the cushions sets I mentioned in the other thread that I'm doing firstly for my mum and dad's anniversary in Oct, and also for my cousin's housewarming gift.


I'm going to make them slighty different, by having a cotton border about 3" or 4" wide sewn on the front to match both their living rooms. For the back of the cushion I bought this fabric on ebay!


I'm going to make a coffe table runner to go with cushions, just for my parents with this material and put embroidered lace around the edges to finish it.

(had to edit that, put same pic up!)

Then this is the first cushion, it's nearly done, but I ran out of the dark green and am waiting rather impatiently for the postie so I can get on with it.

Forgot to say it's stitched on 19 count Zweigart linen in Light Sand, 3 threads over 2. (Going through the threads like no tomorrow!)

I love the whole idea of this, it is so thoughtful! And the sampler idea really works well without being at all twee. They will look fresh and stylish for years and years.

Working with three threads will really boost the 3-D effect, too.

Aaaagggghhhh Ekidna don't give me ideas! I love the idea of homemade cushions but have enough going on without those too.

It's from Britain's No.1 Cross Stitcher issue 199.

Update: My threads have arrived!! I can start stitching these again now!
