DMC Light Effects on bobbins

Post by Thursday Next »

Has anyone wound these on bobbins, and if so, have you found any troubles with it or should I feel confident that it's essentially the same as winding the cotton threads?

On a side note, bought my first satins tonight to make a gift for my bestie who's expecting a sick baby :( Sad about the baby, but excited about the satins!

Mine are wound like anything else and I've had no problems. I just find that they fray a lot anyway even from the skein. Running them between damp fingers helps me use them. Or Thread Heaven.

Mine are on bobbins. The most difficult part I've found is that I always put the ends of what I last used back on the bobbins and the light effects just will not play the game and try desperately to escape. I think it's because it's the ends though and so they aren't long pieces.

mine are also on bobbins..never had issues..they frey either way. what I do is before I wind it, i put a small dot of white craft glue in my fingers and smear a tiny bit on the ends, let dry and then wind.
