confused about dmc number

Post by mel876 »

one of the threads I need for the HAED I'm about to start 'so this is love', is listed simply as 'white'. I was in spotlight today getting the others but couldn't find plain white anywhere, they had ecru, blanc, bs something but not plain white. Is blanc the same as white or are they different shades?? If they are i'll be fine cos I have a heap of blanc in my stash..... i'm so confuddled! :?

As far as I know originally DMC had one "shade of white", which had no number but was simply known as Blanc. Then they added B5200 to their range, which is a brighter white, and 3865, which is an off-white (or antique white) lighter than Ecru and not so yellowish as 746.

Hope this helps!

Thanks everyone!!!

I'm planning on having a full day of stitching tomorrow (ok so its now today 2.22 am here, been fiddling with a few things and got frustrated at having to :ribbit: part of my teddy design earlier so wanted to get that bit redone). anyway i shall start a SAL soonish, shall see how it all goes, theres only about 22 colours in this one so there is HEAPS of confetti, but it will be fantastic once its done.

enough rambling from me.

I saw this one recently and fell in love with it. Please be sure to start a SAL so we can see your progress.
