looking for something similar to this kit

I really love this picture but really aren't sure if I can do it. Because of the price, I dont want to buy it and then not be able to do it. I like the whole bistro/street scene and was wondering if anyone knew of something similar for intermediate level. This one is a bit too advanced for me I hink, and 16 count aida is too small for me for big pictures. I can do 16 and 18 count for littlew things that are fairly simple and generally do these with my cards.

Oh that's really lovely!! You could always get the kit, and then work it on a piece of 14ct aida instead, it will just make the finished product larger. I have some here if you're interested...

If I remember correctly, it is a Dimensions Gold kit. There probabaly is quite a bit of backstitch, but they also use full and half stitches. Like Thursday Next said, you could easily do it on a piece of 14 ct if the 16 is too small for you. I know someone else on here was looking at this pattern, but I can't remember who it was or if she bought it. Maybe they can give you a better idea how the pattern is. The Dimension patterns usually have 3 colors for their charts (green, black, red...and occassionally blue).

Hi,

I was actually thinking of that as I can use the 16 count for something else and even then give it a shot on the 16 count.

It is just so unusual I love it! I can get if at 1/3rd of the price on ebay compared to my usual shop so will think on it a bit more.

I dont mind back stitch, half stitch is okay, I'm doing a dimensions gold at the moment with alot of back stitch and half stitch. It just looks a bit messy on the back as this is the first one like this I have done.

I have been looking at this chart and think it is gorgous. If I didn't have so many projects UFO I would consider doing it.

I have seen a oil painting similar to this but I cannot remember where.

If i buy it here, it will cost me $85, if I but it from USA on ebay, it will be $35 both including postage.

see the HUGE difference in price, craft stuff is so expensive in Australia. I'm sure street drugs are cheaper LOL

I bought it off ebay USA for 50% cheaper than here! So, i figure it wouldn't be so bad if I failed it.

They have more.. 4 available still since I purchased mine.

I am not sure what the UK price is so not sure if this is any cheaper for you.

Well, thats another kit to add to the pile

Looks fantastic, but I find it a bit complicated and I don't think I would ever dare to start such an ambitious project

yes, I found the thread. It was called "Europeam Bistro" and the oiginal poster has started hers. I'm just waiting to see if she has a nervous breakdown before I start it when it arrives!

I hope to join the thread and if anyone else is doing it we can all SAL together on it.
