LOL I am afraid so... not a bad thing though. I always have something in the works. Can't sit down in the evening without something to do. Previous to the sweatshirt project it was knitting. It relaxes me after working on the computer all day.

Thank you for the kind words. :D

Many of us have picked up stitching to relax or to recover from an ilness of some sort. It is a great therapy. I am off to look at your pictures now.

Rose,
Yes hand work is great therapy--after a particularly tough day here at work I can feel myself relaxing by just picking up my needles. Please excuse the quality of the pictures, I took them with my cell phone.. The sweat shirt is a cotton candy pink... though you would not know it by looking lol. The butterflies are varying shades of blues and lavenders. Thanks for looking :)

THe pictures are fine we can at least get the general idea. The stitching is the most important part of the picture anyway and it is very cute.

Hi, Try mirabilia's webpage. She has two dragonflys I think.

As for chatelaine, her stuff is gorgeous and I don't mean to say anything not nice but I did not have a very nice experience purchasing a pattern directly from her webpage. Let's just say that I walked away saying I'd never buy direct from her again (if any of her stuff again) after being chastised and threatened about use of the pattern. I fully understand her concern about plagurism but she didn't need to be ....so strong shall we say....about her warnings.

Lacemaker--- who is Mirabilia? I searched the member list and can not find anyone by that name.. probably missing the obvious lol. Thanks for the heads up re: Chatelaine.

In the internet thread there should be a link to Mirabillia's webpage. They are something like Lavender and Lace.

I had a very similar experience with the Chatelaine designs. I wanted to get one of her so called free patterns. I went to the page to download it and I couldn't get it to work. I asked the simple question of why does it not work and I got chastized by a couple members on the board for asking for a limited free pattern only available to those that join her yearly memebership for SAL type patterns. The link only said free patterns not that it was limited. So I went and checked out some other items and found another that was "Free" I asked before I tried to download and was once again told that only registered members to her SAL were allowed to get it free. I asked why it was advertised as free if it was a limited availablity, and was told that if I wanted her designs I would have to sign up. I felt they were rather rude and have not been back to the site. It just was not a nice experience and not worth the harrassment.

Mirabilia is a wonderful designer of ladies and faires and elves and queens. I've done several of her pieces and have too many to count in "waiting".

That disappointing thing to me on the Chatelaine was the email was from the designer herself. I haven't started the piece yet but they aren't the simpliest thing. I would hope that the designer and the other stitchers would be supportive....

Rose, sorry it wasn't just me and to know I wasn't just being sensitive to her notes.

Sorry about chatelaine - I wouldn't have put up the link if I'd known there was a problem. I have downloaded several of the freebies - I don't recall signing up but I may have done. :?

I would hate to limit everyone's stitching enjoyment from the designs. They are very amazing and I can't wait until I have the fortitude to start it but I would just highly recommend purchasing it non-direct. I even found a local needlepoint shop that carries some of them and I know therre are lots of places out on the web.

I havent' done any of them personally but have been tempted a few times. There are some good forum specific to them that you might want to tap into for hints and suggestions. The on the thing that does appear to be constant with them is all the stitchers seem to grid the fabric first.

I've bought a HAED, it's Selina Fenech's Sea of Roses, but I've been too distracted and chicken (I admit it!) to get started on it yet. THe pattern calls for 25ct over1!! So that's why basically!

Hey Mags that is fine to put up the site. Even though I had trouble with them I still added the site to the "Internet Sites" thread. I figured that my trouble might only be a personal thing but I wanted others to have the chance to at least try them if they liked the pattern. I would agree with Alyson and just by indirect so you don't have to deal with the nastiness.

mm that thread count has me kinda worried lol... I am thinking maybe it would be fine to do it on 18 ct? Such a beautiful design.. I keep looking at it--first with wow (scared) then wow (it is beautiful) lol.

I'm rather hoping for HAED for Christmas. However, I'll do it on 25ct over 1. You don't buy that sort of pattern only to be distracted by the stitches or fabric showing through when you've finished it! The designers go to a lot of trouble, it would seem, to allow you to make the finished needlework look like a painting. We will all be blind, but everyone else will be able to see how lovely it is...
