Those of u who have stitched block by block or a page at a time, can u tell me that I need to stagger my stitching to prevent a line to show that I am stitching one section at a time? I don't want to have a line showing so I am trying to blend the designs by staggering at the end of the page. There are 49 pages in total ....it would look odd to have 49 sections .... anyway, I just pulled out page 8 to add underneath page 1 ....added a few stitches along the edges......then will complete page 1 to page 2.

Any helpful hints or tips out there?

:applesauce: on your progress!
Now I stitched my dragon/castle row by row..block by block.
what I did was pick the most used color in the first block, stitched all that color..moved to the next block to the right, same color, then next block, etc.
Then back to the first block I picked the 2nd color.etc...I didn't notice a line.
With a HAED or what you are doing, may not be possible.
Most that do block by block do get a line...
Why? Different days, different tension..some days you'll stitch tighter stitches then other.
If you get a comment of a ,I must be holding my :coffee:

Your work is beautiful and looks great.

I am not sure what you mean by the lines but then I don't usually do blocks of 10X10 so don't get that but I do do pages especially on my Fire and Ice and I did not notice any lines????? :thinks: Not sure why you are getting them.

I am absolutely paranoid about lines showing. When I did my HAEDs I did do a page at a time(but not blocks) but I did merge the edges a bit. Basically, if the next page had more of the same colour that was in the last page I would do however many stitches of that colour it needed. :thinks: Does that make sense?
In fact I would get the next page, and write in pencil all the way down the edge of the previous page, how many more of that colour there is. This avoids having to have two pages out at once. This always gave it a naturally blended edge

Sorry if that makes no sense. If you want me to try and explain again I will.

my renoir pattern is 4pages wide. i photocopy the 4pages i'm going to be working on, cut off all the whitespace and tape them neatly together. then i stitch the entire line from right to left. (i work bottom to top, right to left so i can hold loose thread taut in my left hand while i stitch so i don't have to knot or weave.)

on my first attempt at this same pattern, i worked block by block, page by page, from the upper left. i could see the vertical page lines developing. i got to page 10 of 16 when my newly adopted dog put a 2in hole right in the middle of the stitching! i wasn't too upset since i was disappointed with how it was progressing. he did me a favor!
