I have this logo I love, and wanted to incorporate it into a pattern but nothing I have converts the logo properly - including the small pattern within the text.
It's a large image but only has 12 colors!!! Why is this so hard!?
I'd love to do it either as a large, solo piece on a black background with rayon floss, with the inset patterns blended with metallics, or as a smaller piece at the bottom of a beach scene - sand in foreground, palm tree arching over the left, gradiated blue skies in the upper section. Obviously I can't design that either
If anyone can help with this I'd truly appreciate it. I'll be taking pics of my patterns to swap later to post, if that's what interests you. I can also comp with floss purchases or that green stuff people seem overly fond of. Or these are definitely items that are saleable patterns, if someone is looking to add to their shop!
Do you have a Cross Stitch Pattern Program? If you do all you have to do is scan it into the program and it will make the pattern for you. You may have to tweak the colors but at least it wpould give you the basics to start with.
If you don't have a program and you are interested in making patterns that are personal to you I would google them and se what is out there and invest in on of the better one. I use PC Pro I love it it is easy and has lots of options.
If you are looking for some one to help change you, look in the mirror
I'm only really basic at designing, so I know I couldn't help you with that. I do LOVE the colours though, beautiful. I am really looking forward to seeing the photos of your patterns and kits though!
I'm sure somebody on here will be able to help you.
I can also give it a go. I've got both Jane Greenoffs and Digistitch. Just let us know what size, what fabric, count and type of thread you want to use.

Part II:
Okay I played with JG software and if I do it in B/w or sepia I can get the details on some of the letters. I think if I play a bit more with it but I'm wondering if you don't have to first upload it into some kind of photoshop, black out the internal designs and then upload it into a stitching software. I think the color differential isn't great enough to get the details. Unfortunatley, I don't have photoshop that will do very much. Now, if I get it so the pattern is 22 inches long...........then we have details!
Hi I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to bump you out....it just when some one mentions a technical challenge I just got try ....and then again it gave me a good excuse to try out Jane's software which I bought a few months ago but had only surfed through.
I think I've got a reasonable facsimile for her but the color key is funky. At least with the detail she can stitch by just using her prefered colors.
Now, maybe you can tell me how to posted a link or get the grid over for her review????? That I'm a total dummy at!

Oh I wasn't taking offence at all - I too love a challenge but am very happy to bow to someone else.
As far as getting it to Heidi is concerned - I would do it like this (I too am no expert and there is probably a screamingly easier way).
We have a bit of software called Cute PDF which you can get free from the internet . It sits as a sort of "printer" on your pc. You select an area of a document and select the "printer" cute pdf and voila you get a pdf document (not editable) which you save (no actual printing on paper involved). You can then email it to her if she gives you her email address (suggest via a pm).
OMG I'm so sorry I never replied! I don't know why I didn't get a notification of posts, normally I do from this site...
Thanks for the help and the offers! I got the colors and am currently using them in a random color block pattern while I work out how I want to do the Mexico thing - bookmark, part of a larger image, etc.
