Hi everyone,
Well, I have done it again and given in to another 'bargain' which I hope it is. I went to one of these big shops that sell a bit of everything and I saw quite a good range of crafting stuff. I saw a pack of 100 skeins of embroidery thread, all sorts of colours. They are made by The Craft Factory and unbelievably only £9.99. Well, I umd and rd a few minutes and decided to go for it. ( Picture in galley)
I have never stitched before on anything but DMC or Anchor so I wondered if anyone else had. A friend of mine swears by using 'other' threads and says she has never had any of them run in the wash or fade etc.
What is everyone's opinion?

Re: Other threads
I've used 'odd' brands but usually in cards or small things. You could always do a card or something small first to see if your happy with how they behave.

Re: Other threads
I've used various bulk pack and odd brand threads with no problems so far. The main problem I had with the pack of 100 was there were several of some colours and they were - as you would guess - not colours I liked much. But they are still useful. They have not run or anything so far.

Re: Other threads
When I started out cross stitching I bought a pack of 50 'Red Heart' threads. They were all Anchor colours and although not quite as glossy as 'real' Anchor they have been fine. No colour runs and a good colour match.
They started me out and and I think that as long as you are happy with the feel and colours...why not experiment.
