Calla Lily for GGMa *Finished & Framed*

Post by Thursday Next »

GGMa (my great-grandmother) is turning 100 in October  When she got married, her "bouquet" was uncut calla lilies, so when I found a beautiful pattern for a calla lily in a sampler/motif book that I recently got, I knew I had to stitch it for her. I started a few days ago, and have been pleasantly surprised to find it a very quick and easy project - it's been very rewarding to see the design develop so quickly! I don't have a picture of what the finished piece will look like (pattern only, which I obvi can't post), but here's a taste of what's to come....

For anyone wondering, I'm using regular DMC cotton floss on 28 ct linen - first time stitching off Aida, and LOVING it!

How lovely!

I had an uncut callah lilies bouquet at my wedding too - sounds like me and your GGMa have similar tastes. ;)

30? I can assure you, it was a wonderful time. Although I can hardly remember it, it was so long ago. And I still feel young - perhaps I shouldn't???

You GGMA will be so surprised. I love the way it is coming along, and it looks really nice on the linen.
