Cross stitch pro Mystery SAL

Post by littlemonkey81 »

This is my first post but I have been lurking for a while, reading your posts and admiring your work!

I know this is a bit cheeky...but I wonder if anyone can help me?

I was partway through doing a mystery SAL (I think it's a painting of some irises) on the http://www.crossstitchpro.com website and I'd downloaded and saved all the charts for the other weeks, ready to do in my own time. Our flat was burgled a few weeks ago and my laptop was among the things taken, so I've lost all the charts I'd painstakingly downloaded :(
I've checked on their website and I can't see the charts up there anymore, there's a new SAL up now...I just wondered if anyone has downloaded all the charts and could email them to me if it's not against any rules? If not, I might try and email the site people and ask for their help!

Any help would be very much appreciated :)

Hello and welcome

I'm sorry to hear about the burglary, but unfortunately what you are asking would contravene copyright. Hope you didn't lose too much stuff.

I have found the pattern on the site - it is now for sale and it looks reasonably priced. http://www.crossstitchpro.com/Iris-Tani ... Stitch.htm" target="_blank

I would send a letter to crossstitchpro and explain the circumstance just as you did here. She may be willing to send you the remaining charts free. No guarentee. Or maybe she would also be willing to cut you a break on the ones you are missing. It is worth a try.

Thanks guys - I've sent them an email so fingers crossed that they'll take pity on me and send the chart!
I did lose a lot of charts I'd downloaded but luckily not too many I'd paid for; I guess it's a good excuse to visit sites again to find their free charts!

Thanks again :)

Just wanted to add that Lori from Crossstitchpro emailed back really quickly with the full chart which was lovely...I will definitely be buying charts from there once I've finished all my current projects! What a wonderful bunch of people cross stitchers are :)

I may well do that... once I have replaced my camera and laptop!
I haven't been cross stitching all that long (only since last christmas really) so I am still learning loads, especially from everyone here. I love looking at all the SALs and the Mini Projects.. hopefully soon I can have a thread of my very own :D
I'll try not to lurk from now on

No no, once you've become a fully-fledged member you mustn't re-lurk :-)!

Why not start your own thread right now to show off what you've done so far, and to encourage you in your present project?
