Twins

Post by dollystitcher »

I am desperately trying to find a birth sampler chart or kit for twins. I have tried all of my usual suppliers, with no success. Can anyone help please? :( :( :(

I'm sure I've seen one, possibly in one of my books - I'll have a look for you tonight, if I have one in a book you'd be welcome to borrow it.
WIPs:

Plans:
Twinkle twinkle cushion for nephew's third birthday (September 2015)

This one is rather splendid if it is for the parents-

If you wanted keepsakes for the babies maybe just do two of your choice.. I will see what else is about

Can I put a fly in the ointment with a negative response.

I have twins so I am speaking from experience when I say that they need to be treated as individuals rather than a linked pair. So I would encourage you to treat them as two separate babies and do a sampler each for them so that when they are older and have separte rooms their individual samplers can go on their walls and also when they leave home they can take it with them.

Sorry to go OT here, but this is a lovely site that I've never heard of before. I love the ONYA bags. Think I might have to get one of these! :D :D :D

Thanks folks, I Had seen the traditional sampler but not the one from Busylizzie. Thank you Kitty I may take you up on that if you can find one. Rosemary, I understand your concern, and as we too have twins in the family already I totally agree with you about treating them as individuals. However the sampler is for Mum and Dad, and the babies will each have thier own seperate ones. :)

I've looked but I can't find the one I was thinking of - all I can find is cards celebrating the birth of twins. I'll keep looking!

I totally agree Rosemary.. I have twins as well, and have never treated them as one, and used to hate the 'one between them'
In the shop I am often asked for birthday cards for twins, I show them the only one we do,if they say about the appalling choice I point out that people usually buy a congratulations card for the parents at the time of the birth, but after that it is the birthday of the children who like to have a card each

Dolly, it turns out the one I was thinking of isn't so much a sampler as a card. This is what it looks like, it comes out at 9.25 by 5.75 inches on 14 count and if you'd like the chart just PM me your address and I'll send you the book, you can send it back when you're done :)

I have a pattern for a poem that would make a nice sampler for the parents. If this link doesn't work, then its in my gallery. http://www.crossstitchforum.com/gallery ... ic_id=1000" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank

Was just reading it... The bit about being a mother could be changed to parents and the bit where it say 'I' could be changed to 'we' fairly easily.

Unfortunately it came from Ebay. I'll have a look and see if I can find the person that did it. If not, you can have my copy.
