hello from china

Post by alicehsu »

hi, glad to find this forum.

i am Alice Xu from China. i am 24 years old, i usually do the cross stitch after work, at night. I have finished a cross stitch card which is very popular in china, and gave to my bf as a little gift.

And recently i am processing another much bigger one as below. That is really a huge work.

oh, could anybody tell me how to upload a pic?

It's a lovely forum. You will be suprised how many men we have here. As well as the chaps you have found, there is also Daz and Dean. It is not uncommon here for men to stitch but they don't all "come out"

thank you, everybody.

Here in china, cross stitch is popular too. But my family said i am so young, and i should not spend my time on the stitch, but i do not think so, i just like it.

I am in my 40's and even my 13 year old son says it is a granny hobby! So don't worry we have the same problem here but I don't take any notice! :D

Hello Alice, welcome to the forum -- looking forward to seeing pictures of your stitching, what sort of projects do you enjoy?

I hear quite a lot about China as my friend has been teaching English there for about 12 years now, in various places. She has been in Tianjin and in Janli province (hope I spelled that correctly...).

Hi and welcome Alice  I'm only 24, and this is one of my favorite things in the world (another of my faves is crocheting, another "old person's" hobby ;) ) So I think you'll fit in with us just fine!

Hello and welcome! Don't worry about people saying that you're too young to spend time stitching. I started when I was 8 or 9, and I'm 31 now.
