I enjoy evenweave once I get started but mostly use aida.
But!! I have purchaces a few pieces of evenweave and I plan to use it moreoften I like the look of the finished peice on evenweave. If it is total coverage I use aida.

Re: evenweave or aida?
Mostly evenweave (including linen) but I like aida for some projects, like cards and some geometric designs, it seems to go well with them.
I have also started using silk gauze, which I like for miniatures.
As for the fractionals, I have done projects using them on aida, but would be very hesitant to do that again -- generally, the moment I see a fractional in a design I'll choose evenweave for it. I do them with the 1/2 covering the 1/4, it makes them look plumper, although I have used the other method if there were two 3/4 stitches in the same square.

Re: evenweave or aida?
hi, I´m sorry I know that this post is very old but It´s the firs time that I hear about evenweave. Someone can tell me the diferences?. I always use aida 14 for all my proyects but I dont like it in the big ones with a lot of space without stitch . I am searching it on ebay but I can decide what try. 32ct 28 ct?. This its like the aida? 32 ct its for every inch 32 squares?
Than you.

Re: evenweave or aida?
Hi guisoris, with evenweave you stitch over 2 threads of the fabric so If you buy 28ct it works out the same size as 14ct aida and 32ct evenweave is the same as 16ct aida. Hope that helps

Re: evenweave or aida?
Angel prefers evenweave. Almost all of Angels designs have fractionals so evenweave is much easier to work with.
Re: evenweave or aida?
It depends on the design. If there's exposed fabric or fractionals, I prefer evenweave, if it's solidly stitched, I may use aida. I've got a big piece of aida for my scarlet quince project as that recommended 18ct aida and given it's fully stitched with no fractionals, I didn't fancy testing my eyesight on 36ct fabric just to get it the same size!

Re: evenweave or aida?
I think that I want to try evenweave 28 ct because my proyects have a lot of blanc spaces. What size of needle I need?.
And a shop in London for threads and evenweave? I want to start this weekend that I am off to do the next name. I think that hobbycraft, but its about 1 hour from my house.
Thank you
