How do you?

Post by ohstitcher »

Get the black out of the fabric after picking out DMC 310? I started a project that I am picing out DMC 310 (black) and it has left some color stain on the AIDA. I washed it and it is still there very faint but it is there. It isn't going to be in the new design I am going to work on but if I ever have to pick black out again I was wondering how to get the stain out.

Is it a stain or is it just fibres - will sellotape pick them up ?

I'd second Mags, if it's fibres, Sellotape is excellent.
I've had the same problem with black getting where it shouldn't be, but it was fibres in my case and the good ole sellotape did the trick.

Usually I just brush the fabric with my finger nail to get the excess fibres out. If its stained you can soak it in oxy clean and it should lift it. Can you all tell im a big fan of this stuff lol.

I tried cello tape so it's not fibers. It is stained :( The thing that makes me the maddest is that the black was only in this for not even a month and it stained?

Makes me wonder whether it was really DMC brand 310? :thinks:

 Have you tried White Wizard (the paste that comes in a tub). It shifts everything, and is made in US.

Well the label said DMC now that makes me wonder. I will try to get the white wizard and try that before I start the new project. Thanks
