On the 5th october, I purchased DMC 16 count Aida from UK, cant get 16 count where I am. Anyway, today it arrives in Australia, 9th October..I think this ebay seller knows someone in Royal Mail cause they sure aren't that fast normally. Something else I purchased on 5th from UK hasn't arrived yet, probably next week.

And I don't think I'll be getting a subscription again as I'm going to be swamped with magazines/designs I'll never use.

I'm still waiting for my glissengloss to arrive as well. I expected that by yesterday at the latest and I'm out this morning ... any bets it arrives then. :x

(*oh dear. I rather like the Christmas designs in New Stitches each year...*)

When I returned from holiday, the three editions of the Just Cross Stitch Special Christmas Issue (for 2009, 2007 and 2005) were waiting for me. These each contain 75 small designs from 75 different designers (like Sweetheart Tree), and are wonderful. :P :P

I think the difference is that apart from New Stitches, the other magazines ram it down your throat for about 3 or 4 months, with very little other than Christmas

Whereas New Stitches has seasonal designs but plenty of other things as well.

WOXS and Cross Stitcher each have 12 ordinary issues and one special Christmas Issue (which is not given a month) -- so if you have a whole issue which is just Christmas, why not leave it at that and keep the other issues for more general stuff?

I got a lovely chart booklet yesterday courtesy of ebay, "101 ways to say thank you" - just what I wanted for thank you cards after Christmas :) and one which I'm going to adjust ever so slightly for an anniversary card for the boyfriend (whoops might've remembered today that our anniversary is in 3 weeks...!)

Good and bad today.

Good: a delightful card and some lovely threads from Mabel. :D Thank you Mabel!

Bad: the wrong chart from Celtic Rose needlecraft. I ordered Water Tiger II, and got Water Tiger (I). I felt bad ringing up to complain as the difference is slight but then if I am to spend hours of my time on it I do want the chart I originally chose. The lady at CR was very good about it and is ordering me the correct chart.

I didn't realise there were two versions of that chart Slinky. I love it though, so can't wait to see you start it. :applesauce:

My glissengloss finally arrived (the seller had been ill, so didn't post until recently). And two small boxes for threads.

Glad they arrived safely, Slinky!

Shame about the chart, but good service that she rectified it without problems. And however small the difference is, if it's not the chart you wanted of course you let them know!

I finally got my postcard from Gavs visit to Cuba. Or rather an island just off of Cuba small enough that I could walk end to end in about an hour :P

I got my RU Craft magazine. Anyone want to be enabled and order through me?

And best of all, I got a check for two hundred and some pounds ^_^ See My benefits don't cover my rent and amenities so I apply for an extra benefit and they grant me a small ammount of money to top it up. Only I applied for it months ago and it's taken them till now to pay me, so rather than being late with all my payments I've been really really strict with myself and somehow pulled through. So now I can finally pay myself back my drivers license money which I spent keeping me afloat and some of my savings, and buy my bunnies a nice new hutch for staying at mummies house.

I'd say that's a real feeling of positive power, Angel. You did it yourself! Well done, girl! :applesauce: :applesauce:
