It's beautiful, you've made fantastic progress! I'd tend to agree with the others who have suggested discreetly trying to find out if this would be appreciated by your husband's aunt. It would be such a shame if it did end up in the closet, I'd be heartbroken.

Louise, given your HAED away for Christmas! Shocking! I'm sure some people must imagine we conjure these masterpieces up in a few days with no effort or blood, sweat and tears going into them.

I do stitch projects as gifts myself, but only for people I know will appreciate them, such as parents, OH and OH's Mum, brother and sister. All of them pore over my work in delight and tell everybody how proud they are - so I don't worry that my stitchy gifts will be unappreciated.

Wow this has come along very quickly! This looks really beautiful!!

I would have a hard time parting with something that took this much work, especially if you're not sure that it will be appreciated. I am a stitcher and my sister is a knitter, and we have an ever-changing "No Knit / No Stitch list" - people who receive a hand-made gift from us & don't appreciate it / use it / wear it get put on the list and they just get store bought presents after that. :D When you put that much time into a project you want to know your work is appreciated!!

It's going to be tough to part with this, but my husband insists we give it to his aunt. I don't mind giving it away, even if it doesn't get hung (yeah right.. )... but it's to someone who adamently doesn't like me... it's gunna be tough, but I'm seeing it more as a gift to my hubby who is going to regift it... that will hopefully make it easier haha. I'm hoping he'll regift it back to me though.. Faith

It really is beautiful and hopefully his Aunt will like it since he is the one giving it to her! Or maybe he will wise up and let you keep it :D
