O/T stupid ebayer!!

Post by kazzi29 »

correct me if im wrong....
i sold some stuff on ebay i looked as a rough guide at what other people were charging for p&p (was £3.85) so i used that
went to post office it was £1.41 to send it which i thought was neither too much or i was ripping them off as i had bubble wraped it and parcel taped it to make sure it was extra safe and wouldnt break...then theres the time to take it to post office/petrol etc and as they didnt decie to pay for it for a few days i had to make a special trip.
anyway have come home from work to snotty feedback saying i was ripping them off no email from them b4 she jumps in....i would of hapily come to some agreement and refunded postage
im just very angry....are some people just out to ruin your reputation? no one else has moaned
im just very angry...and sad that some people are like that
no more selling for me

really..wow... My husband and I joke that people keep their prices low but their shipping rates high so people don't think before they bid what the real over all price is... I don't think you were over the line.. she accepted what the shipping would be when she placed a bid.. there's a reason they have that on the site, so you know up front what you'll be paying..she was out of line sending that comment! :x

I look at it as "shipping AND HANDLING". Which means there's a price for the packaging material and then a price for the processing/delivering of that package. I've refused to buy from sellers who charge high fees for "s&h" no matter how badly I want something. I also refuse to buy from someone who doesn't list "s&h" up front.

I think you have the ability to respond to their comments and I don't think your amount was unreasonable. Don't let one bad apple spoil your ebay experience.

I don't think your amount was unreasonable and as others have said, she shouldn't have bid on it if she thought the postage was too much. She could also have asked before hand if you could send it by a cheaper method if she found that too much.

Definitely her in the wrong there.

the thing that annoys me is if theres a problem why not email me 1st instead of going in all guns blazing...no one else has complained....if i had not bothered wrapping it and just charged her the £1.41 and it arrived smashed and in a state that would of been my fault.....oh well

I agree with others it is not unreasonable to charge for your packaging thats why it is postage and packing! some people are so annoying and they should contact you before leaving neg feedback too - we have had alot of trouble with ebay and dont sell much on there now, tend to just buy bits on there instead - sorry you had to deal with such a horrible person

I wouldn't let one person put you off - most people can see past the odd complainer. I know that if I was considering buying from somebody and they only had one blip or one bad feedback that the rest were all fine then I wouldn't be concerned. There is always going to be somebody who complains regardless!

I've had that happen to me on ebay too. Its a bad feedback system buyers can leave whatever feedback they like but sellers can only leave positive. there will always be moaners, but I try not to let it bother me too much as its a good way of earning a few extra pennies while getting rid at the same time.
You can reply to feedback, but infortunatly it stays negative. Try not to let it spoil your selling... most sellers have the odd unreasonable feedback too!!

I agree, don't be put off by one unkind/unreasonable person, and do leave your comment on their feedback -- certainly when I buy from eBay I look at a sellers percentage, but also at the actual feedback and if his or her explanation of a negative fedback seems reasonable then I'll be happy to buy from them!
