Just a rant

Even tho this has nothing to do with cross stitching i am having a rant and a rave. My dh and i recieved a letter from our property manager saying if we dont come up with $1724.77 by the 6th Nov we have to vacate it and find a new place to rent. I just paid 650 today and next fortnight i have pay another 700 even then that does not cover the cost of all of the rent that we have to pay. i have a big feeling we will have to move and we will have to pull our belts even tighter here just make ends meet, thats means no stash shopping, no magazines for a while. After paying all the bills today we are left with 287 for the week and that has to pay for petrol, shopping nad my outing with my daughter next tueaday as she has councilling. I dont want to move but we just might have to. I will let you know what is happeneing, so if you dont hear from me its because i have broken down again.

Oh I'm sorry to hear this Grub, it must be so worrying for you.
Is there no hope of working out a payment plan with them, so that you pay a higher rent until the arrears are recovered?
I really hope you can come to some arrangement and don't have to go through all the stresses of finding a new place and moving.

Sorry to hear this news. As TB said, hope you can come to some arrangement - it's surely better for the landlord to have someone paying some rent with a payment plan to work off arrears than to force you to find somewhere new and have the difficulty of filling the property again. Will keep it works out.

sorry to hear that renting is such a pain our agents are useless...keep gettin letters saying we havnt paid rent when we have the recipt for it! if it wasnt for the fact i cant be bothered to move i would of by now!

Is that amount in back rent? I'm confused on why you have to pay that amount in the first place??? Nov 6th seems a bit harsh to have to scramble that much money together... If I were a manager I'd try to work out a payment system like the other's mentioned...

here a lot of apartments are sitting empty and those that are having toubles they work with because they don't want more empty apartments!

i hope you don't have to move..trust me I know it's no fun. we couldn't afford our apartment due to him being laid off so we are living in his mom's 3bedroom basement....

I'm confused why you have to pay so much also!! I can understand how tough it is to come up with extra money though! I hated renting just for that very reason! I hope you can get it all sorted out though!

I agree why are they asking for this extra money??? Was it something that they did ? Did you know it was coming or is this just something they dumped on you out of the blue??? Can you go to a rent advocacy group and get some help?? Can you make a deal to pay a bit extra each month until this is paid off??? I hope you can get this straightened out and not have to move.

Is it arrears in the rent? Maybe a rent increase that you haven't been informed of? I think the suggestion of offering a small sum extra each month is a very good idea. I'm sure they can't just land you with a bill that high and threaten to evict you without giving you a chance to reach some kind of agreement first.

I really hope everything works out for oyu soon and you don't have to move. Take care

That amount of money that we have to pay is 1 month in advance at all times ,it says in the contract that we signed at the start. I spoke to the real estate yesterday and we paid $650 and next fortnight we are going to pay 700, i am hoping everything will be ok and it will be enough otherwise we will have to move. I have been looking for new houses just incase and there is a few around in our area so hopefully we wont have to move. I will keep you all updated

So sorry to read about your problems and sure hope that it can be worked out. The real estate agents in this city are a pain and always out grabbing as much as they can.
