Hello

Post by Chuzzle »

Hi I don't cross stitch as much as I used (or want) to. Full time work and being a mother somehow gets in my way! Anyway, my nana passed away earlier this year and having a clear out of her stuff my grandad passed all her cross stitch stuff onto me :D
Thing is alot of it is the free kits you get with the magazines but no magazines! So does anyone mind if I post a picture on here and if anyone has the chart would they mind scanning and emailing it to me? I know its a bit of a cheek to ask.

Hi, and welcome to the forum!

I know what you mean about the frustration of lots of free kits but no charts. The problem is, however, that I suspect that even if anyone had the charts, they would be violating copyright laws if they photocopied them. As a forum, we would get in to very deep wotsits if we were seen to support this.

HOWEVER, it very well may be that someone amongst the good members of the forum have the mags in question and would be willing to loan them to you. What you might do is set up a thread in the trade and sell section, listing the mags you are looking for. You never know! Good luck. :shamrock:

Hello and welcome!
I also have a bag of 'kits' with no chart from magazines. I just thought the best thing was to hang onto them and use the fabric and threads for cards or something. I wish magazines printed the instructions for the kits, but sadly it seems most of them include the charts in the magazines themselves. :?

Hi and welcome.

I know how frustrating it is to have the kits and no charts. The magazines used to put the charts into the kits but then found that when people bought the magazine, the kits had been pinched - hence the charts now in the magazines.

I now photocopy the charts and put it into the kit that way I know I have it all together. When I was moving from NZ to Aus I 'lost' a couple of Christmas mags and so have 2 lovely little kits and no instructions. Might have a try and see if I can chart them.

Welcome to the forum! I personally would see what I have and chart up my own design. It's not really hard to do at all
