Looking for a pattern with a blue door...

Post by ohjulie »

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum and relatively new to cross stitching...I started a little less than a year ago, but I am completely hooked! But that's for another topic :]

I am posting here because I'm searching for a really important pattern. My mom stitched it for my aunt and uncle's wedding and started one for my other aunt and uncle, but misplaced the stitching and the pattern about halfway through. So obviously we can't find the name of the pattern or the designer, and I would LOVE to find it again.

So onto a description. The main focus is a blue door, and it has some flowers/foliage around the door, but not a lot. I believe the top of the door is rounded, but I could be wrong. Under the picture of the door, there is a saying that goes something like:

God placed His hand upon our door
And blessed our home forevermore

But it could vary from that.

I'm trying to get in touch with my cousin to see if she can take a picture of it, so I can show everyone exactly what I mean, but until then, if you have ANY idea what I'm talking about, I would really appreciate a name or designer so I can try and find the pattern. One of my close friends is getting married this summer, and I would love to stitch this for her as a wedding gift.

If this helps, I know that it is NOT any of the following patterns:

[2] http://www.abcstitch.com/optioncart/ima ... type=chart
[3] http://www.abcstitch.com/optioncart/ima ... type=chart
[4] http://www.abcstitch.com/optioncart/ima ... itch%20kit

Thanks so much!!

There is something tickling the corner of my mind on this but can't place it. Sorry but will keep trying to remember.

I love the first one though

At teh top of this section there is a thread called"Internet Sites" in there are a bunch of different links to sites that sell or give away patterns. You could try some of thse sites and see if anything pops up. Also have you tried e-bay there are many items on e-bay. I am sure we will all look around for you and if we find anything we will let you know.

In the mean time we welcome you aboard and hope that you will join in with all of the available options we have.

I had a look before I went to work today, and I am sure it is not a Dimensions kit as I searched a few sites and came up with nothing.

What's sticking in my mind is some kind of almost fullsize, rounded top blue gate in a ston wall with something like geraniums or bouganvilla (certainly didn't spell that one right but you know what I mean  ) over the door and the wall. I tried a general search and didn't find what I was looking for though.

I looked at a couple sites and this one

http://www.patternsonline.com/Patterns/List.aspx?P=1

has the largest selection. In the search box type in door that helps narrow down the selections. Not sure if any of these are the right one but it may give you an idea of what you want to do also try "123 Stitch" that is a great site with many patterns available.
