Yes I did the same on Monday when starting my new HAED, had a go at one strand on 32ct and didn't get on with it at all - plus was using one strand as two were too tight to work with, and it was making the colours look really washed out too. Back to 28ct for me!
As I said on the HAED bulletin board, I would go with 2 strands, on maybe a more coloured fabric, so the white won't show up so much...?

I'm so sorry to hear you were unhappy with your work and have abandoned her. I hope you restart her in the future. I love all the deadly sins series.

When I got my first HAED I was unsure about the number of strands and stitching so I practised on a piece of spare fabric with 1 over 1 full crosses, 2 over 1 full crosses and 2 over 1 tent stitch and finally decided on 2 over 1 tent stitch.

Such a shame that it didn't work out the way you wanted, but as you say probably better to stop now than do much more and then realise you really don't like it -- but she's so beautiful I do hope you'll pick her up again and perhaps try her on different fabric or with a different stitch!

Oh no, I'm so sorry that you're not enjoying this project - especially after 3000 stitches! I hope you restart though, as I really like the pattern, and loved the detail on her face.

Sorry to hear it hasn't worked out for you. What you had done was looking fantastic but with such a large project you have to be happy with it. Hope you find out what works for you so you can restart her.

Thanks for all your support everyone, it means a lot to me.

I have decided to start Magdalene by Myka Jelina, thought I would stitch my first HAED without any background, and so I will see progress more quicky. It is a lovely design and I think Sloth will be put on the back burner for now.

I shall start a new topic for Magdalene, and hope to start her tonight.
