Here's another update. Not far to go now until I finish the top row - at least with all the colours! When the Madeira sparkly thread I ordered turns up I have all those white areas to fill in, so that will be pretty boring as I'll have to do it all at once. At least it's only the top and bottom two pages that have absolutely loads of that to do.

Hmm, good question. Well, hopefully quickly now. I ordered some from Tandem Cottage last week, but then I remembered my only other dealing with them a year ago was a bit of a disaster and I've since read a few posts on here saying that people have waited weeks and had to ring and chase and found out they had backlogs and weren't even dealing with new orders - plus they haven't taken my money yet which is worrying. So I ordered a second lot from Willow Fabrics last night - it cost £1.26 more or thereabouts, but I have already had an email from them saying it's in the process of being packed so fingers crossed I might get at least one of them for the weekend. Having 2 turn up won't be a problem because I have 4 of these mermaids to do so I'm sure I can use at least 2 reels, if not more.

As far as I know there's only one version - all the mermaids measure 8 x 18 inches give or take a few stitches, so each row is only 2 pages wide.

You do, Louise. :) This was the sample Mabel sent me - it turned out to be quite a long sample so when I realised it would be perfect for what I wanted, I decided to stitch a few rows until I ran out. I'm just waiting for the full reels of it to turn up now, so I imagine I'm going to be stitching endless sparklies for days to fill in all the bits I've had to leave so far.

Love it Sarah, this must be quite different from your usual HAEDs. Although I must say your speed has not been affected. Just look at your needles fly!!

YAY! The reel of sparkly I ordered from Willow Fabrics has turned up so I can now start filling in all the sparkly borders and the odd stitches in the background which are sparkly.

So, anyone who hasn't used Willow Fabrics before (in the UK) I can definitely recommend them. I've never used them before myself so this was a hopeful order, given that my favourites (Sew & So) don't stock this, but they are superb. Bearing in mind we're a week away from Christmas, they managed to get this to me in 3 days.

Sparkly pictures to follow soon!

Thought I would give you a "sparklie" update to keep you going. I managed to get quite a bit done already. It doesn't show up brilliantly in the photo but I think you can see well enough. It might come out better in daylight.

Sparklies!

It looks amazing Sarah! How many colors has it? I have the fire and water on my wishlist, I want to start one of those when I have finished my SK.

I think it's got 50 colours in it - I have all four of the charts and I'll be doing Fire after I finish this one. It will be great to see you doing an S-A-L of one of them too.
