Well, I have now begun to work with the Wisper thread - it is not very easy to work with! I think it will look good once it is finished, but it is very bulky and it's taken me FOREVER to do the little bit that I have done. I've finished the tail and feet of the fluffy kitty, here is how it looks so far:

Do you have to brush it up once it's finished or is it just stitch only? Looks great anyhow.

well I just ended up pulling it out because it doesn't look fluffy like the model. I tried it with one thread over 2 instead of 2 threads and it looks much better, and it's MUCH easier to work with. I will post a pic later :)

It is looking great. I am glad that you have found a solution to make it easier to stitch with and make it look fuzzy. :applesauce:

it's lovely!

I read about that fluffy thread in the cross stitcher magazine and it had different types and some you brush up. It looked very effective and it's the kind of thing that would give my cat a whooping huge fur ball and leave me to clean up the mess

A lovely design and I like the fluffies! Id the Wisper thread is a pain, have you ever tried Madeira Lana? very easy-to-stitch-with wool-like thread which you then fluff up with a toothbrush

Lovely design. As soon as I saw your picture of the two theads side by side it went through my mind that it would be a pain to stitch with. I'm sure it will be worth it.

  Thanks for putting up a pic so I can see the comparison! Does come in individual strands?
It does look like it would be an effort to work with, but I really want to try some!

Faith, it does come in individual strands. It looks good now and is not such a pain doing one strand at a time :). Here is the latest pic:

it's still not as fluffy as I would like, so I am going to take everyone's advice and try to brush it up a little. Thanks to everyone for the input!!

It is looking very good. I have tried the fuzzy threads myself at different times and I can't figure out how to get them to look the way I think it should.

I took a little break for New Years celebrations but got back to work today. All of the cross stitch and backstitch is done, as well as the scotch stitch on the borders. All I have left are the Rhodes hearts and butterfly, and the beadwork.

And it's done! Now I just need to find a frame for it! The beads took a lot less time than I thought they would :)
