Re: kimkat_tkl sal
Well I got the all of the backs of the stars finished and one star stitched together for Christmas, the other 3 that I gave as gifts just got them unfinished. I have since finished the second. I also got my aunt's present mostly framed, my sister got hers unframed with the promise to do so soon. I'm hoping to get a pic of one of the finished stars in the next few days as well as the finished cross stitch in their frames.

YAHOO! YAHOO! YAHOO!
I got the last of the stars all sewn together on the 31st! I was soooooooooo happy. I didn't realise how time consuming it would be to sew them together with all the beads added around the edge. Each star took about 5 hours to do!

Since then I've been able to finish stitching Choc-a-holic and Couch Potato as well as frame Honey Bun and Gym Bunny.

While taking pictures I also got a picture of my aunts present framed up:

And now a very happy tale of a dying swan: Back when I was probably in high school (the mid 90s) I stitched a picture of the dying swan pose out of the ballet Swan Lake. As one of my Christmas presents a couple of years later I got the frame so that I could put it up on my wall, and a couple of weeks later my mum shown me how to lace the back and we framed it. Then we waited for my dad to put it up on my wall. Well when I went into what used to be my bedroom (I've long since moved out of home) earlier today there it was sitting up on the wall - it's only taken 10 years but there it was (and here it is):

I want to do the doggie on the couch, I have those patterns. I think it is so cute. You have done a wonderful job.
The stars are fantastic, and so is the xmas koala. IS that one of the patterns from carol (cant remember the rest of her name) website that does all the australiana xmas native creatures pictures...koala in stocking, platapus ect?

Wow those stars really came out wonderful!!!!
The other finishes and framings are great. Dad may have been a bit slow but the picture looks great on the wall and in the frame.

Lovely work, and the swan picture is just so special!
May I ask a question? I was doing some christmas ornaments sewing together and adding beads as well, but mine didn't look this good. The beads were not lying in a nice row but turning this way or that... not in a straight line. Is there a secret how to do it?

Re: kimkat_tkl sal
I found that I could get the beads to stay straight if I had the thread I was using to sew it together really tensioned tight - that way they couldn't move and stayed in a straight line.benceagi wrote:Lovely work, and the swan picture is just so special!![]()

When I did mine I also found it was very important to sew on every bead in the same way, taking the thread trhough it in the same direction/sequence of stitches

Re: kimkat_tkl sal
So I've dragged out Wildflowers to work on during my lunchbreaks and I think that I'll find it a bit easier going now that I have grid lines drawn on it.
