Happy New Year (it's still early enought that I can say that). :) I hope everyone is having a wonderful 2010.

Wow... it has been such a long time since I have been on here. As you may recall, I am in still in Germany and I think the last time that I wrote here I was in Köln. I had to move to Magdeburg as part of my program and I was there for 3 months absolutely miserable. I had limited to no internet, when I used the internet I was yelled at, my host family was terrible, and I had to be in the hospital for a kidney stone operation when my host family left me to go to spain. After 3 months of horror, I was able to move back to Köln and I have now a wonderful host mom. (she also doesn't get mad when I cross-stitch) so I worked on my stylish silhouette last night and now I am over 50% done! I plan on getting back to it today, but just so you guys didn't think I fell off of the Earth, here is a picture of my progress :)

So glad that you are back with us. Why are people so mean. If they are going to be miserable then why offer to be a host family in the first place. :x

Sorry you had a kidney stone those are so miserable.

Your progress is wonderful and hope to see you around a bit more.

Thank you for the kind words and thank goodness the bad times are behind me! Let the good times roll!! haha.

It is nice to be stitching again - very therapeutic. My new host mom is very intrigued with my work. Unfortunately, I didn't bring the Slipknot one with me. I was afraid that if something happened to my luggage or I lost it, I would go insane. I already worked 6 months on that thing, and I didn't want to take a chance of something terrible happening to it especially since it is my masterpiece. :)

@ Cockney Stitcher and Charmed - I did chart it myself. I made some slight changes to the CD cover and since I have to stitch the entire background, it's going to take me forever and a day. haha. I can't wait to see it done though, and it is nice to take a little break from it. 19 shades of red is a lot... I am excited to work on it again though. I haven't worked on it since June, so I am anxious to see it progress. I just have a feeling I will get sick of it again. But when I get to the 50% point, I will be estatic! :)

Hi!
How awful to be so far away from home, depending on these people and they treat you like rubbish. Hopefully the good times to indeed roll.
I had to go and peek at your Slipknot stitch.. It looks awesome!

I know I haven't been on here that much. I am still in Germany and will be here until July 14. I have been pretty stressed with work over here and trying to find work back in the states. And, since I hadn't been stitching for a while, I found my lovely stylish silhouette that I got from Lisa and decided to finish it up last night. :)

Sooo... the long awaited big finish!!

Image

Now I just have:
Winter Cardinals, Slipknot, Feline Love as cross-stitch WIPs
my sweater as a knitting WIP
my crochet top and Tetris blanket as a Crochet WIPs

and a million other cross-stitch kits, and patterns that I created for myself as knitting, crochet and cross-stitch projects.

I know I don't have a job yet, but man.... I can't wait to retire. Maybe I could get some work done on these things. I just hope I still like heavy metal though :P
