Essentially yes. It's a really really dark brown. A not-quite-black brown! There are a few highlights in red, and the rocket 'tail' of the J is backstitched in a dark yellow, but everything else is the dark brown. makes it quite easy to do.

I think i might get myself the chart for this alphabet. I love doing name plates but get a bit fed up of using the same alphabets.

J's my favourite too :-) -- and the whole name plate is wonderful, all the letters work together to create a great picture!

I needed a small thing I could do in a hoop. The other pieces I'm working just now are great but cumbersome in their frames and I haven't been in the right mood to work on them the past few days.

So I did this little dragon by Joan Elliott

Image

Someone else did it on here recently. Normally dragons aren't my thing but this one is for some reason!! It's on an unnamed 'grab-bag' piece of Dove Stitch evenweave(purpley swirly pattern) with lots of cream beads (which took an age to sew on, but beads do look lovely and are so worth the effort) and a bit of Kreinik gold bling. Anyway, I enjoyed it and am pleased with the way it's turned out. I may turn it into a card for someone special in due course but for now it's joined the Mice in the unframed drawer.

By the way can anyone tell me what the difference is between regular Mill Hill beads and those marked Delica? They looked very similar to me!

Oh, and my latest 'small project' is a cheeky little number from Celtic Rose, Patently Obvious It won't be everyone's taste I'm sure but it appealed to me!

The dragon looks great, especially with beads and bling. Your latest one made me smile - I can see hubby thinking there's more to cross stitch than he thought if I started that one
