The White Seduction looks amazing, as do your other projects. You should never hide them away

Wow!!! what an amazing collection of stitching!!! :applesauce: :applesauce:
I can't believe you hide it away it's far to good!! As for being a male stitcher my hubby has decided to do a bit of stitching and he's doing Cinderella for our daughter to match the Snow White one I'm doing! Its his first attempt.... and so far he hasn't played on his PS3 once since starting stitching!! so he must be enjoying it and he's telling anyone who will listen about what he's doing!!!
Can't wait to see what you come up with next!!!

Hi Kiwidude,
Was just wondering how you managed to get into cross stitch?

Hmmm, good question. When I was a young kid growing up on a farm in NZ I vaguely recall doing a few other crafty things like knitting (stuffed toys), macrame etc although nothing since I was about 10-11yrs old I think - mainly been a computer geek writing software since I was 12 when we moved to the big city (Auckland). My Mum and sister both cross stitch although I don't recall ever seeing them doing it - I have lived in different countries to my family for the last 20 years.

I moved to London 10 years ago and particularly the first few years liked to buy them gifts like craft magazines or various stitching bits & bobs to send to them in Aus they couldn't get. I think somewhere along the way some design on a magazine cover I was sending them caught my eye and I decided to quietly give it a go myself with a couple of kits.

So with no-one else around I just taught myself, it obviously isnt difficult although there are plenty of tips to make it easier you learn along the way. It took a few months before I confessed to them I had given it a go and nowadays they are my fan club, Mum asks me for tips now which is a bit of a laugh. I've dabbled with a few other things since for variety such as a latch-hook rugs, blackwork and long stitch (a few in that first mass photo I posted).

It's a hobby I ebb and flow on, depending on what else is going on with work etc, no different to others I am sure. In the last five years have buried myself with work and probably only did a couple of kits, then since November I've done six I think. Uninspiring weather helps!
