FINALLY! I've been putting off finishing this for so long, I'm feeling guilty. It was supposed to be a 'new baby' gift and the child turns 3 next month! But I didn't want to start another large project until it was done. So here it is. Hope she still likes teddy bears.

Now I can start the design that OH picked out for himself about 2 years ago: my first Teresa Wentzler! I'll start a SAL soon.

Well, considering that the parents' wedding gift was also a cross stitch that arrived two years late, at least I'm consistent!

Well, I finally got around to taking this to be framed and picked it up yesterday. Now I'm taking it back today. :x

I had a quick look at the shop, mainly at the overall look, and it seemed OK.

But when I got home, I saw that the corners of the metal frame were very poorly done: very sharp uneven edges all around. There's also a mark on the mat, under the glass.

So I called and said I was not happy. The owner apologized and said she would fix it. But since she did the framing, I'm wondering what her standards are. I'm tempted to take along a metal frame I purchased at the local Dollar Store, which is better quality, and for which I paid about $8. Needless to say, I paid LOTS more than that for this poor job. This is the first time I've used this shop -- and maybe the last.

I'll keep you all posted . . .

EDIT I decided to add a 'before' picture of one of the corners, which are all rough. Hope there will be a good 'after' picture.

:x how very frustrating! I do hope that they get it framed properly and soon--and by the way, I'd not seen this cross stitch before and I must say it's simply adorable!! Nice stitching :applesauce:
