Some ideas to celebrate my son's birthday

Post by silviaciuchi »

So, my dear son Vasco turned 5 two days ago. I crafted some treats to celebrate:

Here's a cardboard false cake: every layer holds a different kind of sweet treats: cookies, chocolates, candies. He brought this to kindergarten school and all his friends loved it

In case you may wonder, "Buon compleanno" means "Happy Birthday", so you've just learnt something Italian!

Then I baked some cookie favours with his year number:

Then, I made a cupcake composition of his favourite cartoon at this time, Barbapapa:

And then, after all, I enjoyed two of these delicious cupcakes of course...

Oh, these are lovely! Well done, and I am sure he enjoyed it.

Actually I used to really love Barbapapa when I was a kid - is it still going????

Yes, they seem to be living a revival here. I find them so "ancient", but I still love their poetical affection and the ecological message. They're so sane compared to what's in fashion today!

Lovely ideas -- I especially like the cake made out of ... are they hatboxes? (and I remember Barbapappa too :-) but also knew he was still going as I read a Barbapappa book to my best friend's little boy when they came to stay last year, and he had brought it, it was one of his favourites!)

They all look lovely - and those cookies and cup cakes are making me hungry!

I remember barbapapa too! I didn't know it was still going though. That's great news.
