I haven't used it but there's one at http://www.crosstitch.com" target="_blank" target="_blank that has been around for quite a while. You can see samples of their work, as well as completed works that people have done from their photo patterns.

The person who runs the site is a designer, so he works with the photo rather than just run it through a program. He also sells his own patterns, plus those of several others.

Click on Photo to Pattern at the top of the page.

They tested a load out in one of my magazines a while back. DMC got the best rating, review and realistic, true to image chart.

I there are loads of companies now offering this service, some better than others.

I would suggest googling "Stitch A Photo" or "Photo Cross Stitch" and just browse the web.

Hope this helps.

I have used DMC Stitch a Photo for a black and white photograph of my parents wedding 55 years ago, it was perfect, I also used a more recent colour photograph of my darling tri coloured Border Collie and that was amazing, I would trust them with any photograph. Hope you get your one charted soon, what is it going to be? You will be so happy with it when it is done.

If you look in my Gallery at "Sylvia", I did this from a photo using the Jane Greenhoff program. I have since produced charts for other people from photos.

My DIL's comment was "that is uncanny".

It will give you everything you need, size, thread type, maximum colours to use, and thread list.

I think there are quite a few programs that allow you to choose size and colors count and they do come out looking amazing. I think in the Tips and Tricks Section you will see a review thread for programs that members have used and how well they have worked for them.
