Excellent Work,

i know how frustrating it is with only a few colours, seems to take forever, good luck with the wings and all your other projects

Thanks for your encouragement. I took the plunge last night and made a start on one of the wings. It wasn't so bad in the event. I haven't finished it but it's not the endless drudge of whiteness I'd been expecting. Somehow it's managing to be a little more interesting!

I'm dying to get to her throat, head and hair but I've banned myself from starting that area until I have done a wing!

Great progress on all counts, Slinky -- and :applesauce: :applesauce: for being disciplined and doing a wing first! Glad it's not quite so dull as you feared...

I've done a wing!! Well, the white stitches of the wing at any rate. It's taken me two solid evenings of stitching, and I couldn't have done it without my magnetic marker board, and what seemed like yards of white thread. Phew.

Now to fill in the gaps with ecru and grey, shouldn't take long as all the counting has been done.

I may yet have this done by Niece's 1st birthday at end of February ...

Here we are Rose, a one-winged angel!!

Image

I'm so cross with myself, I spent a while yesterday stitching the flesh tones on her throat and neck, and did an entire section in the wrong colour thread! SO ANNOYING!! I had no choice but to :anotherfrog: the whole lot out and restitch.

I am planning to save the head to the end, to reward myself for ploughing on with the other wing and sleeve!! More white - JOY :?

Hooray for wing! Does that mean she flies in circles?

It may be more white, but she's looking beautiful :applesauce:

I'm like you Slinky, I hate stitching lots of white, even if it is on a different colour background. I don't really know why!

She is looking beautiful. I did the same thing with my angel I used the wrong color for her face. It looked ok but I frogged and put the right color in anyway.

The fabric I'm using is Silkweaver linen, "Enchantment". I can highly recommend their stuff.

It is gorgeous....... but I've never stitched on linen before  I'm just getting to grips with evenweave, but I do love it so I may give it a little practice and see how it goes :) Thank you :D
