i don't vacuum that is my hubby's job I hate doing it...i think it spans back to when i was a kid and i was afraid of our very loud vacuum. or just that i'm lazy!!

hmm okay now for a question.

what was the your first completed cross stitch project?

ooo and if you have a picture will you post it?

**edit** hubby says he dusts after he vacuums and then laughed and said which defeats the whole purpose b/c you knock dust back into the floor...great now i just confessed that he does the dusting too

  That is ok I wish I could convince mine that the floor needs to be vac-ed and that it wouldn't kill him to do a bit of it.

Vacuuming first? Dusting first? Really ladies, please get your priorities right, of course it's Stitching First :-)!

An initial I in sating stitch with a white cat in cross stitch curled round it, over 20 years ago now -- I don't know what happened to it :-(

When doing Assisi patterns, do you do the backstitch first (as they say you "should") or last (which is often easier and more effective)?

So far I have done it last, but now I am contemplating a bigger one for one of my book pages, and I decided to do it "the right way" - just to see how it goes

When you are home alone (if it ever happens) do you cook for yourself?

I find it more and more difficult to make myself cook - and with my stomach problem it would be important to eat well :(

I clean my house from the top down leaving the vacuuming for last. I first put away any clutter on the tables or counters and then dust the highest items first and work my way down to the floors. Many times, I just have the interest or energy to clear the clutter and forget about the dusting and floors.

But on to the real question for me.. whether or not I cook for myself when home alone. I will admit, these are usually the nights I pick something up on my way home from work, or pop a bag of microwave popcorn and call that dinner. It is terribly lazy but I am not the cook in my house, and I use a night to myself as the perfect excuse to grab something on the go. Our grocery recently updated and expanded their quick fix meal selection.

What are your plans for today?

Ooh, that's hard :thinks: I really like all the projects I've done so far and would be hard pushed to pick a favourite from them. I like them all so much for different reasons - style of art work, detail in them, variety of stitches etc etc. If I had to, I think my favourite (at least at the moment) might be one I have yet to start - my HAED "Curl up with a good book". I read a lot of fantasy books, so I like the dragon in it. I absolutely love books so anything with books is good and the whole curl up with a nice glass of wine, cookie, comfy seat, book etc is just perfect. I also love the clever little touches in these designs with the names of the books etc - I really hope they chart lots more of the book ones.

Do you have a dedicated place in your home where you do your stitching? I always stitch in the same place on the sofa and my current project lives by the side of my stitching space.

I usually sit on the sofa, but have two spots on different ones, both by lights and tabels, one so I can see and the other to put my drink on so it doesn't go over my stitching. Table is lower than sofa so I have to put my sewing down to take a drink.

Following on Rose's theme when I was younger I always used to dream that one day I would be a speed skater in the olympics.

What would dream sport be.

I would want to be a hockey player I love watching the game and flying around running into other players with a big stick to knock the **** out of a little puck would be perfect.

Nope, I don't usually watch opening ceremonies and things, I prefer to get straight into the events.

With all the discussions on the forum recently of frog fry and frog cake, I was wondering, what's the most unusual food you've ever eaten?

I had an ostrich burger at the Glastonbury festival years ago, it was very nice a bit like greasy lamb! :)

If you could be a zoo keeper and look after any animal for a day, which animal would you choose?

I'd love to get up close to giraffes... I'm fastinated with how tall they are. Once when we were at the Safari Park one came up really close to the car and stick his head through our sunroof, he was beautiful! :) if a bit dribbly...

I don't watch tv I listen to it and if a bit sounds interesting I have to put my glasses on to see what is happening, by that time it's usually passed.

Do you spring clean your house in spring?

I can't remember exaclty... but it was probably my own "funny" comment. I love making up puns and most people don't find them so funny at all... it must be my obsession with languages and words...

What creams and lotions do you usually use?
