I just received a food parcel!! Once a year our friend (& ex-next door neighbour!) sends me things that either we can't get outside of Northern Ireland or costs a fortune over here – soda and potato bread, Tayto Cheese and Onion crisps (you haven't lived until you've had Tayto Cheese and Onion crisps!!) and big bars of Dairy Milk Chocolate!! There goes the diet ..... again!! :D

I've got Chameleon's Shades of Africa range in Soie d'Alger, but seeing these I'm tempted to get some of their variegated ones as well! Did you get them from the UK? (If from the US, you could also try the Dutch company Titania Dreams -- look under "Garens" -- which saves on postage, and what with the euro falling every day...)

I was lucky enough to bring some of them home from a trip to SA last year but I haven't seen them over here. Where did you find them? I'm not too far away from Bedford (ish), I'll travel for good silks  ! Please tell!!

Slinky and Mabel, I got these from Tudor Rose Patchwork in Oakley near Bedford, but they don't have them for sale on their website. If either of you would like me to get some for you and send them on to you then I'd be happy to. They cost me £3 each, however I think the lady who runs my stitch club is a distributor for Chameleon, so I could ask her if I could buy them from her, if that would work out cheaper. I was thinking of doing that for myself as they really are beautiful threads.

I got the Drawn Thread chart I ordered so I have something happy and full of spring in my book of poems - but I still haven't found the poem to go with it... anyway, not starting right now, but may not be able to hold myself back for long :)
